Minutes of a meeting of Hazelwood Parish Council held in the Memorial Hall, Hazelwood on 22nd May 2014 commencing at 7.40p.m.

1/14/15Apologies given: Apologies were given by the Chairman, Councillor Angold

2/14/15 Variation of Order of Business

  No variation to Order of Business was deemed necessary.


3/14/15 Declaration of Members Interests

 None


4/14/15 Public Speaking

 No members of the public were present.


5/14/15 Minutes of the last Meeting

 Minutes of the council meeting held on the 27th March 2014, copies of which had been passed to the councillors prior to this meeting, were taken as read, approved and signed by the Chairman for accuracy only. From the previous meeting a quote of £470 had been accepted for painting in the memorial hall, this had been against a quote of £870.

 The possible WW1 event was also likely to take place in November to coincide with Remembrance Sunday. Councillor Walker was hoping to coordinate interest to get the ball rolling, with help from others.

 Nothing was deemed necessary for exclusion.


7/14/15  Chairman’s Announcements

There was nothing further to discuss.


8/14/15 Derbyshire Association of Local Councils

All circulars having been previously circulated were received.


9/14/15 Financial Matters

(a) Present Balances

 Business Reserve                              £0.02

Memorial Hall                     £7498.79

Parish Council                £6784.80


(d)          The accounts were agreed by the new internal auditor prior to the meeting and figures were confirmed at 31st March 2014 by the Vice Chairman and Councillors. Parish as £922.72 and Memorial Hall as £6824.89

 The Clerk made a request for a new parish computer. This is to be added to the agenda for the July meeting.


10/14/15 Memorial Hall and Lettings

Plans for the next stage of the memorial hall improvement need to be re-drawn and discussed at a separate meeting to ascertain exactly what is required in the hall. Would it be for storage requirements or an extension for further activities, and is it for the village or the regular users from outside the parish. Requests for further facilities in the hall would be appreciated with the possibility of a small library or a post office. Councillor Harris offered her services to help run this.

A meeting has been provisionally organised for 3rd July 2014 to discuss further after the next meeting of the neighbourhood planning meeting and all of the final questionnaires have been returned.

11/14/15 Planning and Licensing Matters

There have been no planning applications since the last meeting.


12/14/15 Neighbourhood Planning

 A meeting was held on 6th May to finalise a new questionnaire to be sent out to the parish, this is to be returned by 26th May. The next meeting will be held on 5th June.


14/14/15 Date and Time of the next meeting

The next meeting will be held in the Memorial Hall, Hazelwood, at 7.30pm on 24th

July 2014
