Matters arising

Notes for May 28th working group meeting

Item 2/ Final Questionnaire total now 69.

Item 3/ Glen Wall, as  a Playing Fields Trustee, said that despite the many suggestions for improvements, the Trustees appetite for change had not been ‘whetted’. Insurance costs were deemed to be a major factor.

Item 4/ Final Questionnaire analysis

Bob Wrigley agreed to lead the preparation of conclusions, following the provision of numbers analysis by Martin Angold and the ’Reasons’ appendices by Michael Say.

Housing needs Assessment

This had been discussed and Michael Say had had contact with David Arkle, Housing Manager at AVBC. His response was that AVBC did not have that information, pertinent to Hazelwood. Cost was a factor in initiating primary research but he was open to exploring options with parishes to see if a way forward could be found.

It was agreed that the Group should register an interest in the topic. Michael Say to action.

Stephen Heathcote re; AVBC Local Plan

Stephen had helpfully emailed to show that AVBC were not specifically targeting Hazelwood, as their Plan comes together.   A limit on sites outside the urban areas was still 50 houses which would be a significant number in Hazelwood, however.

Village Fete July Saturday July 19th

Volunteers and material for the fete were reviewed.

Kevin Eaton had previously established that eight group members were available on the day.

A simple aide memoire had been produced by Kevin to sort parishioners from other visitors. An aim will be to gain further Final Questionnaires from relevant residents and any further helpful information - all as part of the engagement process

All previously agreed material had been produced. Graphics and banners were shown and special thanks were noted for the provision of material  - again - by Martin Farrell and the production of the banners by Phil Best.

Previously produced boards and maps will be brought by Martin Angold. Pens, pins, tables and chairs were also noted as requirements.

Setting-up will commence on the field at 10.00am.

Getting back on track

Chairman was concerned that the outline timeframe was somewhat adrift. It was now very important to press on with the key planning related issues which will form the heart of the plan. The Fete will likely be the last information gathering /engagement function. The conclusions from the Final Questionnaire would soon be to hand. It was therefore important that the Group moved on quickly to establishing objectives and draft policies, particularly as the AVBC Local Plan was also coming together. Mike Wood advised that he had been keeping a close eye on the progress of the latter and was looking at the preparation of  draft objectives, accordingly.

The likely agenda for the next meeting was, therefore;

Village Fete summary

Conclusions from Final Questionnaire (Bob Wrigley group)

Draft objectives (Mike Wood)
